·       indoor sporting events

·       live and recorded music

·       dance performances

·       supply of alcohol (see below)

The maximum number of people permitted to attend such licensed events is 250.

Whilst the premises are in use for licensed activities involving the playing of music, no doors or windows on the outside of the premises are to be left open.

Supply of alcohol

Itchen Abbas and Avington Village Hall is subject to the provisions of the Licensing Act 2003. The hall’s Premises Licence covers the supply of alcohol at functions by sale or otherwise between the hours of 10.00am and 12.00 midnight every day except Good Friday and Christmas Day.

This means that you don’t need to apply for a licence to supply alcohol at your functions in the hall unless you are planning to sell it.

If you wish to sell alcohol at your event – even if you are just including the price of the alcohol within the ticket price – then you must tell the Hall Manager when making a booking and you must also read our Alcohol policy and complete the sale of alcohol form which can be downloaded HERE.

This form needs to be returned to the Hall Manager for approval by the Committee, who are legally responsible for overseeing the sale of alcohol on the Village Hall premises. Please allow sufficient time to receive this approval!

Once approved, you are free to run your own cash bar. As an alternative, you may prefer to use a mobile bar company, or The Plough, the lovely pub next door to the hall!
