The Village Hall has a Premises Licence which permits the following licensable activities:
· Performance of plays
· Exhibition of films
· Indoor sporting events
· Live and recorded music
· Dance performances
· Supply of alcohol (see below)
between the hours of 10.00 am and 12 midnight daily.
The maximum number of persons permitted to attend such licensed events is 250.
Whilst the premises are in use for licensed activities involving the playing of music, no doors or windows on the outside of the premises are to be left open.
Supply of alcohol:
The Village Hall is subject to the
provisions of the Licensing Act 2003. The Hall’s Premises Licence covers the
supply of alcohol at functions by sale or otherwise between the hours of 10.00
am and 12.00 midnight every day except Good Friday and Christmas Day.
Hirers do not therefore have to apply for a licence to supply alcohol at their functions in the Village Hall.
However, hirers of the Village Hall wishing to sell alcohol at their party or other event (including its supply in return for payment within the ticket price) are required to declare this to the Village Hall Manager when making a booking.
This is in order to ensure that the Designated Premises Supervisor (DPS), who is legally responsible for overseeing the sale of alcohol on the Village Hall premises, is aware of the intended sale of alcohol.
The Naked Grape of Alresford acts in this capacity on behalf of the Hall. Whilst hirers are at liberty to run their own cash bar, both the Trout Inn and The Naked Grape will be happy to do so for them. See Local Links for contact details.
